BUILDing Futures Youth Attend Legal Boot Camp

This summer the young people in BUILD’s Building Futures Program are participating in a law internship and legal boot camp with Ropes & Gray LLP.  So far, they have been introduced to corporate legal, injunction hearings, panel discussions, and a speaker series.

In addition to learning how to use their skills and the law to solve problems, they have gained experience through advising mock clients, and writing/filing briefs. On days when the youth are not at the law firm, they are in the classroom studying a complementary curriculum that supports their work in the field.

This amazing experience is part of One Summer Chicago which brings together government institutions, community-based organizations and companies to offer over 20,000 employment and internship opportunities to youth and young adults ages 14 to 24.
